Why Michelle?
Michelle is one of Seattle’s most experienced dance teachers, having taught full time in Seattle for over thirty years. She was Seattle’s first Salsa teacher and third Argentine Tango Teacher. She was also part of Seattle’s second wave of good WC Swing teachers, and taught ballroom dancing at the Washington Dance Club.
Michelle loves to dance and totally believes that social dancing enhances every person’s life. What truly sets her apart and makes her one of the most sought after teachers in Seattle, are some of the most important aspects that you look for in a dance teacher:
Michelle’s lessons and classes are fun and enthusiastic. Michelle is a superb and skillful teacher who provides clear instruction and demonstration, and imparts her knowledge easily. To help her be aware and connected to the needs of her students, she consistently dances with all her students during classes, as both a lead and a follow. But most of all, her enthusiasm is contagious. Her playfulness and humor evokes smiles and laughter from her students, putting all at ease.
She keeps up on local trends and keep her dancing skills sharp.Michelle is well known throughout the dance community as she has continued to social dance every week for all 20 years. This is how she keeps her dancing skills sharp and keeps up on local dancing trends. Nothing is more reassuring and gratifying for students of dance than to see their dance teacher out dancing among them.
She keeps abreast of the worldwide trends in the dances.Michelle frequently travels abroad to immerse herself in the dance of other cultures. She has traveled to Argentina for Tango, Cuba for Salsa and all over the US and Europe. She has taught at and participated in many Argentine Tango Festivals, Salsa Congresses and WC Swing conventions over the years, and continues to attend major dance events each year.
Michelle performs publicly. Michelle walks the walk. She is an inspiration to her students as she continues to perform publicly, exemplifying her skill and grace at dance. She perpetually looks for opportunities to engage people in dance and create new ways to help develop the dance community. She continues to take private lessons from the great masters of partner dance, and passes on the benefits to her students.
